CARTWRIGHT, Mrs. Flora "Louise"
Kalamazoo Mrs. Cartwright passed away Friday morning, February 1, 2008 at her daughter's home. She was born March 28, 1912 in Caldwell County, Kentucky, one of three children to Orie and Lydia Ashby Ladd. Louise worked as a bookkeeper for automobile dealerships until her retirement. Surviving are her daughter, Wanda Philip Small of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Karen Greg Hokenson of Kalamazoo, Ken Small of Rochester, and Chris Todd Hartman of Portage; seven grandchildren, Sarah Eric Therkildsen, Grace Luke Schneider, Michael and Jennifer Hokenson, and Nikki, Joshua, and Jordan Hartman; three great-great-grandchildren, Clayton, and Jeriah Therkildsen, and Olivia Schneider; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death are her parents; one brother, Cecil Ladd; and one sister, Ruby Terrell. Funeral services for Louise will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Pastor Michael O'Berski officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of services. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Association.
