Everett Dykgraaf

Dykgraaf, Everett of Comstock Age 98, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2015 at Kairos Dwelling. Everett was born on June 29, 1917 in McBain, MI, the son of the late John and Agnes (Roseveld) Dykgraaf. He was married to Winifred Scholten for 47 years; she preceded him in death in 1986. For 27 years, he was employed at the Kalamazoo Paper Company and then retired from The Upjohn Company after 13 years. Everett was a long-time member of the Comstock Christian Reformed Church. He visited the Nigeria mission field and helped train oxen to plow the land. Everett was a caring gentle man. He was known to be honest and have a sense of humor. Everett recently celebrated his 98th birthday with his family and friends. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William, Martin & Lawrence; his sister, Caroline Fredricks; and son-in-law Glenn Tiller. Everett is survived by his children, Evelyn (Paul) Kemp of Kalamazoo, David (Janice) Dykgraaf of Grand Rapids, Rose Tiller of Kalamazoo, Tim (Stephanie Green) Dykgraaf of Richland, and Steven Dykgraaf of Paw Paw; 8 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; also surviving is his sister, Harriet (James) Kuipers of Cutlerville. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 6th, from 6-8:00 pm, at the Langeland Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 7th, at 11 o'clock, at the Comstock Christian Reformed Church, 5300 Comstock Ave. Friends may also visit at the church beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Comstock Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kairos Dwelling or to the CRWM for CRCN.
