BRINDLEY, Mr. Elwin "Al"
Richland, MI Passed away October 3, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Battle Creek. Al was born March 5, 1924 in Allegan, MI, the son of Lester and Lelia Powers Brindley. He served in the Infantry in the U.S. Army during World War II and prior to his retirement in 1984 was employed for 25 years for the Spartan Stores. Al was a member of the Richland United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Mildred and Erma; and a brother, Marland. On July 15, 1946, he was married to the former Mary Lou Harrison, who survives. Also surviving, 2 daughters, Barbara Parker of Boise, ID and Patricia Steve Noteboom of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ruth French and Norma Jean Farmer, both of Allegan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Memorial contributions in Al's memory may be designated for the Richland United Methodist Church.
