Betty was born June 12, 1923, in Paw Paw, the daughter of Charlie and Lurah Johnson Hotrum and went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2011 in Kalamazoo. Betty was a hardworking woman all of her life whether working on the family farm or at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Johnny Roe and Gordon Soule; her son, Jerry Earl Roe; two step-sons, Donald and Richard Soule; all of her siblings, Charles, George, Paul and Cliff Hotrum; Helen Gustafson, Vera Velasquez. Surviving are her best friend and daughter, JoAnne B. Jordan of Portage; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and two special friends, Lorraine and James. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, where a service to celebrate Betty's life will begin at 2:00 PM Tuesday. A private burial will take place in Harrison Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in Betty's memory may be directed to a charity of your choice. www.langelands.com
