DALM, Elizabeth "Libby"
Kalamazoo, Michigan Elizabeth died early Saturday morning, December 13, 2008, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born October 5, 1924, in Waynesboro, GA, a daughter of Ralph W. and Elizabeth Buxton Witcher. Libby grew up to become the classic southern belle and attended the University of Miami. She worked as a flight watch officer for Panama Airlines and later became their flight engineer for the nightshift. After moving to Kalamazoo, Libby worked at the Four Seasons Dress Shop for over 25 years. Libby was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also involved with Pretty Lake Vacation Camp. In her free time, Libby enjoyed oil painting, playing Bridge - Marathon, and golfing at the Kalamazoo Country Club and the Lake Doster Golf Club. Libby was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Leontine Lowry. Libby was married for 23 years to Jacob A. Dalm, Jr, who survives. Also surviving are: two sons and their wives, Dr. Stephen "Chris" & Julie Dalm of Grand Rapids and William & Evelyn Dalm of Richland; eight grandchildren, Ian, Lisa, Brian, Brendon, Morgan, Natalie, Adam, and Kelton Dalm; two great-grandsons, Brandan and Levy Dalm; a sister, Tommie McGee of Florida; a brother and his wife, Ralph & Janice Witcher of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family will gather for visitation on Monday from 5pm to 8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 Tuesday afternoon at First Presbyterian Church, 321 W. South Street, with the Rev. Wayne Connor, officiating. Cremation will follow services and private inurnment will take place later in the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
