of Kalamazoo, Michigan Dorothy passed away early Friday morning, September 26, 2014 in Kalamazoo. She was born on August 6, 1923 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Harry and Frances Shaeffer Stoddard. Dorothy was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a nurse during World War II. She met and married Robert F. Lockwood, who was a US Army soldier, in Nancy, France on January 18, 1946. They returned to Kalamazoo following the war. Surviving are four children, Bob Lockwood Jenni of Portland, OR, Carol Roche Jim of Portage, MI, Janet Larsen Arne of Portland, OR, and Jim Lockwood Barb of Gilbert, AZ; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
