Of Kalamazoo, MI Donna passed away early Monday morning, Aug. 3, 2009. She was born July 25, 1929 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Harry and Lucy Adams Allen. On December 31, 1947, Donna was united in marriage to Donald Needham. She was employed by Allen Test Products for many years until her retirement. Following retirement, Donna hand coiled guitar strings in her home. Family was the most important part of her life and she loved spending time with her family and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband of 38 years, Donald; her parents; 2 brothers, Robert and Donald Allen; and 1 sister, Dorothy Lantis. Surviving are 2 daughters, Kathy Lon Gerow of Kalamazoo and Tammy Claude Otten of Paw Paw; 6 grandchildren, Nathan Jessica Gerow, Christie Otten, Christopher Campbell, Tim Otten, Noah Jennifer Gerow, and Stephanie Campbell; 5 great-grandchildren, Mattie, Olasia, Marshall, Gramm, and Sophie; sister, Betty Gilbert Jackson of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Donna will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Kairos Dwelling for the Terminally Ill or Borgess Visit Nurse and Hospice Services.
