Formerly of Flat Rock, MI Dennis Bowers died Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at his home. He was born June 5, 1935, in Winchester, IN, a son of George Bartley and Mildred R. Cox Bowers. Dennis served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1959. He lived in Flat Rock, MI for 25 years prior to moving to Portage, MI in 1995. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bartley Bowers. On June 4, 1960, Dennis was united in marriage with the former Alice Perry, who survives. Also surviving are: two children and their spouses, Dee Pat Sinicki of Portage and Michael Terri Bowers of Portage; two grandchildren, Madelynn Bowers and Mitchell Bowers; a brother, James Janie Bowers of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday from 5-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Private inurnment will be held later.
