Kalamazoo Dean passed away Christmas morning, December 25, 2007 at his home, following a two year battle with cancer. He was born February 9, 1966 in Kalamazoo, the son of Milford and Bonnie Conley Gordon. Dean was a 1984 graduate of Comstock High School. He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family and friends. Dean was employed by Eaton Corp. for the past eight years. He was a member of Grace Christian Reformed Church, and also was a Crossroads Bible Instructor for prison inmates. Dean was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, kayaking, and fishing; and also a longtime runner who recently began training and competing in triathlons. On June 9, 1990, Dean was united in marriage to Sheila Kelly in Kalamazoo, who survives. Also surviving are their two children, Monica and Joshua Gordon; his father, Milford Shirley Gordon of Kalamazoo; two sisters, Pamela Rick Morgan Poindexter of Morrow Bay, CA and Dana Barry Watt of Cordova, TN; one uncle, Bob Victoria Conley of Richland; mother-in-law, Kathy McCormick of Comstock; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Kelly of Comstock and Sam Kelly of Parchment; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding him in death is his mother, Bonnie Gordon. Funeral services for Dean will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 1724 Whites Road, with Rev. Dr. Harry Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway.
