Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 20, 2008. He was born November 21, 1948 in Kalamazoo, the son of Harry and Winifred Walters Hybels and had been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. He married his wife, Vickie Taylor on December 6, 1969 and had two children, Tracee and Jon. Dave was a co-owner of Hybels Produce and worked as a produce manager at Meijer. He was a caring and out spoken man who enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, traveling and finding a good rib place. Dave was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children, Jon Chelsea Hybels of Schoolcraft and Tracee Ron VanderKlok of Kalamazoo; two grandchildren, Madison and Matthew Hybels; two sisters, Patricia William Fennema of Grand Rapids and Mary James Mouw of Chicago; and a niece, Elisabeth Mouw. Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday in the Fourth Reformed Church, 6339 Atlantic Ave. with Rev. James Vander Roest officiating. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
