McCOY, Clarence "Mac"
of Portage, Michigan Passed away December 4, 2008 at Bronson Hospital. He was born August 15, 1922 in East Liverpool, OH to the late Clarence, Sr. and Florence Oliver McCoy. Mac was united in marriage on May 17, 1947, to the former Betty Jane Hall, who survives. Mac was employed with Fauver Company in Madison Heights, serving as a Project Engineer prior to his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Control Tower Operator from October of 1942, until honorably discharged in December of 1945. Mac was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, Redford, MI and a current member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. Also surviving Mac are his sons, Jack Diane McCoy of Ortonville, MI and Tom Barbara McCoy of Portage; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister, Alberta Stone; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place Monday, 1:00PM at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 7211 Oakland Drive, with a visitation beginning at 11:30AM, prior to services. Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date, at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., Portage.
