Chuck passed away suddenly at home on Thursday morning, March 5, 2015 at age 68. He was born in Weymouth, MA on September 29, 1946, the son of the late Charles Oswald Parnaby and Willa Grace Worcester . He graduated from Norfolk County Agricultural High School in Walpole, MA, and from DuPage Horticultural School in West Chicago, IL in 1968. He moved to Kalamazoo, MI where he worked at Pennings Greenhouses, VanBochove's Greenhouse, and Romence Garden Center. Chuck then worked at Crossroads Mall for 16 years starting in maintenance and working up to building projects coordinator. He ended the last almost 10 years of his working career with D & L Industrial Services before he retired in 2008. He became known as "Mr. Fix-it" man in most all his positions for his talent of repairing things. He had been a member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 20 years where he was a Sunday School teacher, a trustee, and in the van ministry. Currently he had been attending Lake Center Bible Church. Chuck enjoyed flowers and gardening, hunting, and model railroads, but his true passion was fishing and spending time with his family, especially his 5 grandchildren. Traveling to Portugal, Spain, Gibraltar, Morocco, Alaska, and Hawaii with his wife were adventures he loved to share with people. Chuck was blessed to have many friends, and he left a positive impression on all who knew him. He was married on September 22, 1973 and is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Virginia Ginny McComb Parnaby. Chuck also is survived by his sons Ryan Jessica Parnaby, Nathan Christin Parnaby, and David Parnaby. His grandchildren are, Sarah Jones, Caroline Wagner, Tyler Parnaby, Kyle Parnaby, and Olivia Parnaby. His siblings are Thomas Linda Parnaby of Weymouth, MA, Barbara Gould of Plant City, FL, MargaretAnthony DeLuca of Carlisle, PA, Pricilla Thomson of Carver, MA, William LaurieThompson of Dayton, ME, Linda Mitchell of Pembroke, MA, George Marilyn Thompson of Plympton, MA, and Bruce MargaretThompson of Holbrook, MA. Friends may visit with the family from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where the memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 officiated by Pastor Moises Gomes. Memorial contributions may be given to American Sleep Apnea Association www.sleepapnea.org , Friends of Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery www.friendsofwolflake.org or WGVU PBS channel 35.
