Charles Carpenter

CARPENTER, Charles Dorr Passed away Saturday, May 5, 2007. He was born November 6, 1949 in Kalamazoo, the son of Charles Henry and Betty Jones Carpenter and had lived in the Dorr area. Charles had been employed by KTS and Flow-Serve for several years and served his country during the Viet Nam Conflict in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Luke?s Episcopal Church and the VFW Post 6252, Comstock. He loved deer hunting and riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Carpenter and a nephew, Bruce Ranes. Charles is survived by his wife, Cheryl Brogan Carpenter; his children, Chelle Michael Whitney of Dorr, Carla John Guenzel of NM, Charles Patrick Carpenter and his fiancé, D?Ann Tierney of Kalamazoo; his grandchildren, Marissa, Staci, Charlene, John Joseph, Lacee, Rose and Kacie; his mother, Betty Carpenter of Kalamazoo; 3 sisters, Kathy Steppenwolf, Valerie Mullen and Pamela Bert Van Ostran, all of Kalamazoo; a brother, Frank Gail Carpenter of Raleigh, NC; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. on Monday from 6-8 PM. Interment will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Borgess Hospice.
