Kalamazoo, MI Carol Russell, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday morning, November 26, 2014. She was born on Tuesday, April 20, 1920 in Allegan County a daughter of John T. and Erma Peak Mitchell. Carol spent most of her life in the Kalamazoo area and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In 1937 Carol married Luther Russell who preceded her in death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers. Surviving are: seven children, Carolyn Charles Burnett of Parchment, MI, Garry Dorothy Russell of Waterford, MI, Barbara Jesse Wimbley of Bloomingdale, MI, Luther Rena Russell, Jr. of Columbus, GA, Linda Emeal Thrash of Kalamazoo, MI, Gail Patterson of Kalamazoo, MI and Anita Edward Dawkins of Southfield, MI; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and no public services are scheduled. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
