Died suddenly on April 26, 2009 at his residence. Carl was born June 12, 1954 in Mt. Clemens, MI, the son of Willard and Maxine Penwarden Grubb and had lived in the Kalamazoo/Portage area since 1985. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Albion College; graduated from Grand Rapids Seminary and received his Master's Degree from WMU. Carl was employed for 10 years as Vice President of Business Development and National Sales at BASIC in Portage. He was preceded in death by a sister Margee Blewitt. On June 4, 1977, Carl was married to Debra Berg, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters Kendalyn Scott Thuma of Plainwell and Lisa Grubb and her fiancé Clayton Burnett, both of Chagrin Falls, OH; his parents, Willard Grubb of Clearwater, FL, and Maxine Grubb of Sarasota, FL; 2 brothers, Gary Victoria Grubb of Social Circle, GA, and Barry Carrie Grubb of Sarasota, FL; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Carl's life will be held at 3:30 Thursday, April 30th at the Soccer Field at Portage Central High School. Please dress casually, bring rain gear just in case and soccer jerseys are welcome. The family wishes are that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carl's memory be made to the Carl Grubb Memorial Fund checks payable to Ohio State University, c/o OSU Women's Soccer, 2450 Fred Taylor Dr., Columbus, OH 43210.
