Portage, MI Passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009. Bonnie was born November 6, 1944 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of DeWaine and Marion Ryder Hughey and lived in the Portage area for many years. She was a cashier for Town and Country Market for 18 years and was devoted to her family. On October 31, 1969, she married Clinton Martin, who preceded her in death on November 16, 2005. She was also preceded by her parents, and her step-father, Gilbert Fifer. Bonnie is survived by her children, Gina Martin Jim Westra of Battle Creek, James Martin of Battle Creek, Scott Martin Shelly Addison of Delton and Barry Hallam of Richland; a sister, Sandra Kanaga Vern Meeker of Lawton; a step-daughter, Sue Martin of Richland; grandchildren, Neal and Harley Stampfler, Erica Westra, Andrew and Amanda Hallam; a step-grandson, Clinton Martin; nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with Rev. James Dyke officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 PM.
