GLIDDEN, Betty L.
Of Scotts, Michigan Betty passed away Monday morning, April 20, 2009 at her home with her family by her side. She was born September 25, 1932 in Augusta, MI, the daughter of Ralph and Bernetta Singrey Kirk. On February 17, 1951, she was united in marriage to Linn E. Glidden. She was a member of Lakeland Reformed Church in Vicksburg. Surviving are her husband of 58 years; 4 children, Dennis Carol Glidden of Milwaukee, WI, Karen Gary Howard of Oshtemo, Debra Larry Doggendorf of Gobles, and Chris Ron Topp of Kalamazoo;13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Delores Raymond Bell , Shirley Stewart, and Jackie Dean Piper all of Florida; and several sisters and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Betty will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Lakeland Reformed Church, 10442 Sprinkle Road, Vicksburg, with Rev. Ed Schmidt officiating. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services, South County Community Services - Clothing Ministry, or Lakeland Reformed Church.
