Mattawan, MI Bette Lorraine Senecal left this life to be at home with the Lord on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at age 94. She was born on August 12, 1920 to Edward J. Kleiner, Jr. and Elsie Lederer Kleiner in Racine, WI. They later returned to their hometown of Muskegon, MI where Bette graduated from St. Mary's High School. She married Ralph W. Senecal on May 11, 1940. After their marriage of 32 years ended, Bette moved to Kalamazoo to pursue a successful career in apartment management with Edward Rose and Sons until her retirement in 1985. Bette leaves five sons and daughters who thank God for her life and are grateful for their upbringing under her loving care and devotion: David Senecal of Kalamazoo; Scott Linda Senecal of Stafford, VA; Paul Kathy Senecal of Muskegon; Maryanne Robert Ward of Lawton, MI; and Barbara Richard Medaries of Staunton, VA. Bette was the loving grandmother of eleven grandchildren: Caleb Senecal, Marcus Senecal, Kirk Senecal, Bryan Senecal, Susan Paul Anderson, Joshua Heather Ward, Maryellen Russell Metcalf, Matthew Kathleen Medaries, Benjamin Kelly Medaries, Carley Daren Thorpe, and Jesse Medaries. She was also the proud great-grandmother of fifteen great-grandchildren. Bette was preceded in death by her former husband, Ralph, twin daughters Susan Jeanne and Joan Kay, and her brother Edward "Buzz" Kleiner. All of us in Bette's family are forever grateful to the staff of Rose Arbor Hospice and the staff of Bronson Commons Nursing Home in Mattawan for their faithful and devoted care. We were continually assured that her warm personality and good heart had earned her their love. A memorial service will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. on Friday, May 22 at 11:00 am.
