Annie Smith

SMITH, Annie Kalamazoo Mrs. Smith passed away Tuesday morning, November 28, 2006 at Tendercare of Kalamazoo. She was born October 16, 1905 in Lewisville, AR, the daughter of the late Will and Malinda Featherston Pace. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church in Kalamazoo and a former member of 11th Street Baptist Church in Texarkana, AR. She taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir, and worked in the Missionary Society and the church nursery. On December 6, 1935, she was united in marriage to Chester A. Smith, who preceded her in death on June 1, 1988. Also preceding her in death are her daughter, Jonnie Bell Randle on May 10, 1978 and her sister, Alice Boyd on July 4, 1988. Surviving are her son, Hulen B. Hortense Williams; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. There will be no local visitation or funeral services. Interment will be in East Memorial Gardens, Texarkana, AR. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Galilee Baptist Church.
