Ann Eckenberg

ECKENBERG, Mrs. Ann M. Kalamazoo, MI Passed away peacefully on May 10, 2007. Devoted to her family, she is survived by her son, Gary Bartosiewicz and his wife, Phyllis, 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Ryan Edlind, Sara Scott Hamilton, Lisa Bartosiewicz and Laura Bartosiewicz and four great grandchildren. Born to the late Antony and Stephanie Sczykowski, on May 30, 1918, Ann was a longtime resident of Grand Rapids, where she belonged to Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Mary Magdalen Parishes. Ann had a lifelong love of travel, family and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Peter Bartosiewicz, and her second husband, Arthur Eckenberg. Also surviving are four stepchildren and many step grandchildren. Ann was the last survivor of her two sisters, Lillian and Emily, and her brother, John. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM Tuesday, at St. Augustine Cathedral, 542 West Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo, with Rev. Fr. James Richardson, officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St., Kalamazoo. Private family interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Grand Rapids. Memorials may be directed to the Friends Fund of Friendship Village, 1400 N. Drake Rd., Kalamazoo, MI 49006.
