Angeline VanderLugt

VANDERLUGT, ANGELINE Angeline VanderLugt, age 99, went home to be with her Lord on January 26, 2015. Angeline was born March 15, 1915 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Ryan and Henrietta Broekema Doorn and was a lifelong area resident. She was the oldest charter member of the Grace Christian Reformed Church where she was also a member of the Ora et Labora Society and the Dorcas Society. On March 22, 1946, she was united in marriage to Joe VanderLugt, who preceded her in death on May 18, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a son, Stanley VanderLugt; a great-granddaughter; her siblings, William, Cornelius, Grace, Jacob and Gerald Doorn, Alice Westra and Geraldine VanDonselaar. Surviving are her children, Ruth Don VanderRoest, Robert VanderLugt Linda Stanifer Kenneth Karen VanderLugt; 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Ruth Doorn; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, January 28th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Grace Christian Reformed Church 1724 Whites Road with her grandson, Rev. Andrew VanderMaas officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials in Angeline's memory may be directed to Grace Christian Reformed Church Organ Fund or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
