VEREEKE, Mr. Adrian "Ade"
Portage, MI Passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice on December 19, 2010, after being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Ade was born October 25, 1918 at Holland, Ml and was working at Swift Ice Cream where he met his future bride, Pauline Jasperse. They were blessed with the birth of two children, Dennis and Nadine. Ade worked as a railroad conductor for 32 years. He will be remembered for being a Dad and Grandpa that loved spending time with his family, laughing and enjoying friends, golfing, bowling, and eating! He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Pauline. He leaves behind a son Dennis Vereeke and wife Dawn; a daughter Nadine Mell and husband Steve, his dear companion Allaine, three grandchildren, Jason Vereeke and wife Tanya, Kelly Rogalski & husband Joe, and Tara Mell as well as five great grandchildren. A private celebration of Ade's life will take place in Grand Rapids for close family members. There will be no visitation. Our family wants to express gratitude to the staff at Rose Arbor, especially Michelle, his R.N., whose care and compassion comforted us at a difficult time. Donations in Ade's memory can be made to Hospice Care of S.W. Michigan or the Michigan Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
