DEDOES, Mr. Adrian "Ted"
of Gobles Went home to be with his Lord, January 6, 2012 at Rose Arbor Hospice Care, after a battle with cancer. He was born July 23, 1928 in Kalamazoo to the late John and Jennie Greendyk DeDoes. Ted was united in marriage to Ardis "Ardie" Houtman on March 17, 1950, who survives. As a teenager, Ted went into construction work with his dad and later became a partner in John DeDoes and Sons. He and his brother Bob, were partners in DeDoes Construction for many years, until he retired in 1985. He was a devoted, loving husband for 62 years and a wonderful provider to his family, whom he loved dearly. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ted collected John Deere tractors and vintage vehicles. He and Ardie enjoyed wintering in Florida for the past 27 years. He attended and was actively involved at Faith Chapel Ministries. Also surviving Ted are his children, Lynn Bruce McDaniel, David Sue DeDoes and Diane William Stanton; 3 grandchildren, Michael Kelly DeDoes, Jason Leslie DeDoes and Sara Eric Hibma; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Mary DeDoes, Stanley Betty DeDoes, Jake Sue DeDoes; sister-in-law, Lois DeDoes; and several dear nieces and nephews. Also preceding Ted in death was a sister, Nellie DeDoes and brother Nathan DeDoes. A memorial services will take place Tuesday, January 10th, 11:00 at Faith Chapel Ministries, 7736 W. G Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 9th from 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. A private committal will be held at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to Faith Chapel Ministries or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
