HARRIS, Addis "Liz"
Of Comstock Liz passed away Friday evening, October 19, 2012 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born October 4, 1927 in Middletown, OH, the daughter of John and Mattie Havens Birchfield. On February 22, 1947, she was united in marriage to Rozwell "Rusty" Harris. She was employed by Eckrich and KVP Sutherland for many years until her retirement. At the age of 47, Liz went back to school and graduated from Comstock High School in 1974. She was a member of the Borgess Service League from 1987-2002, and also a member of the Comstock VFW Post #6252 Ladies Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her husband of 63 years, Rusty Harris; two sons, Robert and Thomas Harris; her parents; sister, Lillian Gaant; and two brothers, Bud Birchfield and Ed Murphy. Surviving are her four children, Linda Richard Bishop of Scotts, Jeanne Stan Wheeler of Comstock, Patricia William Lovely of Otsego and Richard Harris of Orlando, FL; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Liz will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Calvary Bible Church East.
