Wilbur passed away Tuesday evening, March 14, 2017 at Golden Orchards Assisted Living in Fennville. He was born on May 5, 1939 on his family's farm in Doster, MI. On September 14, 1968, he was united in marriage to Barbara J. Mintern. Wilbur worked on the family farm until he was 28 years old, when he began working as a truck driver. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Barbara Wahmhoff; seven children: Patricia Ellard Turner, Robert Ellard, Norbert Ellard, Tammy (Don) Boggs, Sandra Boggs, Jerry (Amanda) Wahmhoff and Rebecca (Aaron) Lynema; four siblings; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents: George and Faye (Lewis) Wahmhoff and three siblings. A memorial service to celebrate Wilbur's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 18, at Dunningville Reformed Church, 2559 Lincoln Rd, Allegan. Rev. Chris Timmer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Golden Orchards or Southern Care Hospice.
