Went to be with his Heavenly Father Friday morning May 12, 2017. Tom was born December 2, 1948 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Tony and Ellen (Koning) VandenBerg. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with Mall City Containers for 38 years before retiring. Tom was also a member of Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church. He enjoyed woodworking, taking walks, and most of all spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. On August 15, 1969, he was united in marriage to Linda J. (Zwart) VandenBerg who survives. Also surviving, 2 daughters, Tricia (Tony) Fraij of Erie, CO and Cindy (Jon) Robinson of Puyallup, WA; 5 grandchildren, Thomas, Carson, Jacob, Zoey, and Timothy; 2 brothers, Dan (Marge) VandenBerg and Jim (Judy) VandenBerg all of Kalamazoo; 2 sisters, Beth (Dave) DeBlecourt and Kris (Dennis) Scheffers all of Kalamazoo; 2 sisters-in-law, Barb (Arn) Woldhuis and Denise Glas all of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 12 noon Tuesday, May 16th at Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church, 9316 Oakland Dr. Private burial will take place in Hope Cemetery. Visitation will 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday, May 15th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Please visit Tom's personalized webpage for directions, online guestbook or to leave a condolence.
