Sinnie Yzenbaard, age 101, went home to be with her Lord on September 12, 2017. Sinnie was born February 26, 1916 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Henry and Bertha (Schreuder) Sportel. She was a lifelong area resident and a longtime member of Third Christian Reformed Church. On August 31, 1938, she was united in marriage to John Henry Yzenbaard, who preceded her in death on January 8, 2003. She was also preceded by her daughter Ruth Reed in 1999; her son James in 2015; her grandson Matt in 2002 and by all of her sisters, sister-in-law's and brother-in-law's. Surviving are her daughter and husband Caryl Yzenbaard and Timothy Hoberg; son-in-law John Reed; grandchildren Emily (Steven) Roy; John Yzenbaard (Kelly Morehead) and Gretchen (Greg) Arthur; great-grandchildren Kaylin Arthur, Charlotte Roy and Chloe Roy; several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held 11:30AM Saturday, September 16th at the Friendship Village Wellness Center (1400 N. Drake Rd.) with Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating. The family will greet friends one half hour prior to the service and immediately following the service during a time of light refreshments. A private interment will be held in Grand Prairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sinnie's memory may be directed to Friendship Village Friends Fund or Third Christian Reformed Church.
