Roger passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Rose Arbor Hospice Residence at the age of 74. He was born on June 30, 1943 in Mobile, AL a son of Edward and Virginia (Frame) Deyo. He graduated from Portage Central High School in 1962. Roger worked for General Motors for 35 years before retiring. He was a former member of 12th Street Baptist Church. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Deyo; a sister, Patricia Golden and former wife, Gail. Surviving are his children, Lisa Garner of Portage, Kris Vernia and Angie Vernia; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Greg (Suzanne) Deyo of Delton; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6-8PM on Friday, January 26 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., where services will be held 10AM on Saturday, January 27. Pastor Jeff McNally of Word for Life Church will officiate. Interment in Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South will follow services. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
