Peter passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2017. A lifelong resident of Kalamazoo, he was born on April 2, 1918. Peter worked as a bookkeeper at Grant's Department Store in Galesburg for over 30 years until his retirement. Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter and Henrietta (Hubbard) Johnston; brother, Grant Johnston and two sisters, Grace Johnston Heath and Barbara Johnston. Surviving are three nieces, Barbara Johnston Eldridge, Harriet Johnston Townsend and Sally Heath (Downing). Private family interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. There will be no public visitation or service.
