Passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the age of 43. Melissa was born in Kalamazoo on May 5, 1974. She was a caring and loving person. She loved spending time on the family farm and loved all the animals, especially the horses. She liked to be outdoors and was a phenomenal basketball player. She is survived by her parents, Gregory and Joyce (Johnson) Stewart; two brothers, Gregory Stewart II and James Douglas Stewart; one step-brother, Chris Martin; two nieces, Melissa and Samantha Stewart; two aunts and one uncle, Vern and Judy Johnson & Delores Johnson. Melissa is also survived by two very dear friends who were like second parents to her, Roger and Ginger Massey and their children. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will take place later. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Western Michigan University Center for Disabled Students. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel.
