Witsaman, Mark Alan

Passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 due to injuries received in an auto accident, along with his mother, Elma Louise (Smith) Witsaman. Mark was born in Kalamazoo on November 25, 1957. He graduated from Western Michigan University, where he received his Bachelors Degree in English and Theatre. He then graduated from Georgia State University, where he received his Masters Degree in Anthropology. He was currently employed as an Instructor at Muskegon Community College, where he taught Anthropology and Sociology. He loved technology and science fiction and was a "Trekker". Mark is survived by his wife, Lauren (Himelrick) Witsaman and their son, Nathaniel Witsaman; two aunts, Ruthellen (Ron) McCurley and Shirley Cook; three cousins, David (Debbie) McCurley, Lynette (Jim) McCurley and Maribeth (Jim) Hasely. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Dean Witsaman. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
