Died Friday afternoon January 12 , 2018. Margaret was born July 17, 1931 in Cassopolis, Michigan a daughter of Earl and Anna (Tomas) Messenger. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with Kalamazoo Public Schools for 25 years, retiring in 1988. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Myron "Keith" Borst on February 19, 2004; her son, Michael Borst on March 5, 1968; 2 brothers, Earl Messenger Jr. and Robert Messenger; and a sister-in-law, Sally Noggle. She is survived by 3 children, Carol Sue Borst of Kalamazoo, Roger (Nancy) Borst of Flat Rock, MI, and Steven (Theresa) Borst of Grand Rapids; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Barb Bloomer of Traverse City, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 3-7pm Tuesday at the chapel. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center. The family would also like to thank Margaret's caregivers at Alamo Nursing Home for their loving care during her stay.
