Died Monday morning February 27, 2017. Lorene was born January 5, 1925 in South Haven, Michigan a daughter of Fred and Bertha (Winkel) Mielke. Friends knew her as "Enie". Enie had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, where she actively volunteered in a variety of the church outreach programs. Enie also was a dedicated volunteer with Meals on Wheels and spent 25+ years helping deliver food. Enie loved being with her family and friends and especially enjoyed taking her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for endless tractor rides over the fields behind her home. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter W. Fiebig on July 31, 1993; 3 brothers; and a sister. Lorene is survived by 3 children, William Fiebig of Portage; Deborah (Jeffrey) Snelling of Salt Lake City, UT; and Pamela (Douglas Dow) Fiebig of Chicago, IL; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Private services and burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the St. Michael Lutheran Church or charity of choice. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
