Passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the age of 101. Lidija was born January 16, 1916 in Jekabpilis, Latvia to the late Ieva and Niklass Vigants. She was united in marriage to Nikolajs Arins on June 5, 1938. Lidija was known for her beautifully crocheted afghans and intricate needle work pillows. She spent most of her summers in the garden cultivating flowers and growing many fruits and vegetables. She was an avid baker and her tortes were a work of art. Lidija is survived by her daughter, Vija Arins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nikolajs Arins. A funeral service will take place on Friday, June 9th, 1:00 pm, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saginaw, MI on Saturday, June 10th at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lidija's name may be directed to the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saginaw, 128 N Elm St., Saginaw, MI 48602.
