Passed away Thursday morning, July 20, 2017 at age 78. John was born September 17, 1938 in Battle Creek, MI to the late John and Ruth (Lowing) Behl. He was united in marriage to Jane Johnston on June 10, 1961. John worked for GM for 30 years until retirement in 2006. John is survived by his children, Robert Behl of Portage and Holly Cheatham of Portage; 1 grandson, Jordan D. Cheatham; sister, Glenna Halliburton; and nieces and nephews. John is also preceded in death by his wife, Jane Behl; and a son, John Behl II. Family will greet friends on Monday, July 24th from 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. A private burial will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.
