Passed away Saturday morning, September 16, 2017. Helen was born May 2, 1928 in Ypsilanti, MI the daughter of John L. and Doris R. (Franklin) Harriman. She worked for several years with Peters Construction and retired later from the City of Galesburg. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, and playing dominoes and Skip Bo. She also enjoyed the time she spent with the Silvertones (bell ringers) at the Fountains. On December 27, 1947 Helen was united in marriage to her loving husband of nearly 70 years, Harry Haase who preceded her in death on February 3, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her father, John and Alice Harriman; mother, Doris and Art Low; 2 brothers Sheldon Harriman and William Harriman. Helen is survived by her children, Ruth (Bob) Blake, Cathy (Dan) Joba, Harry Jr. "Rob" (Darlene) Haase, Linda (Mike) Hoppenrath; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol Harriman; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, Sept. 22, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday evening, Sept. 21, from 6-8pm at the Galesburg Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or the charity of your choice.
