Died Sunday afternoon April 16, 2017. Harry was born March 9, 1933 in Madison County, Alabama a son of John and Gracie Boyett. During the Korean War, he served Honorably with the U.S. Navy. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1955 and was employed with the Operating Engineers Union for over 35 years before retiring. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma L. (Huckabee) Boyett on July 7, 2007; a son, Paul Boyett in 1998; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters. He is survived by 2 children, Linda (Little) Little of Gobles and Jim (Karen Prevatte) Boyett both of Gobles; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eunice (Floyd) Houk of Toney, AL; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held 6 to 10pm Saturday, April 29th at the Bloomingdale Conservation Club, 16681 41st St. Bloomingdale, MI. Graveside services will be held 1:30pm Monday, May 1st in Fort Custer National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
