Passed away Monday afternoon, April 10, 2017 at her home. She was born January 21, 1937 in Holland, MI the daughter of the late Frank and Goldie (Cogswell) Williams. She worked for several years with the U.S. Postal Service and also several years with the Coca-Cola Company. Gertrude enjoyed fishing, going to garage sales, and traveling with her husband. On September 16, 1955 she was united in marriage to her loving husband Kenneth, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Nancy Williams, Brenda Ayres, Kenneth "Pahoo" Underwood, Martin Scott (Mindy) Underwood, Stella Underwood; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Faye Magnuson, Judy Richardson, Roger Williams, Ruthie Saldivar, Betty McKinley; and many nieces and nephews. Gertrude was preceded in death by a son, Kelly Robert Underwood; daughter, Donna Faye Underwood; and a brother, Donald Williams; sister, Barbara Williams. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 18 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Interment will follow in Almena Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Monday, April 17 from 4-8 pm at the Westside Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Great Lakes Hospice.
