Passed away Saturday afternoon, November 11, 2017. She was born January 18, 1924 in Detroit, the daughter of Russell and Julia (Fritz) Clark. Jean was employed by Dow Chemical for 18 years until her retirement in 1977. On February 10, 1951, she married Almonte "Monte" Nye III, who preceded her in death on January 25, 2005. Also preceding her in death was her daughter Sandra Lee McCarty at the age of 1 in August 1943; and her sister Eleanor (Chester) Kraft of Jackson. Surviving are her daughter, Dona Jean (Gottfried) Muller of Lansing; brother, Ronald Clark; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, 1210 W. Saginaw St, Lansing, MI 48915. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes.
