Gabriel Jordan Engbers went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 13, 2016, surrounded by his family.
Gabe was born on February 1, 1981 in Kalamazoo, MI to Tim and Ronda (Michael) Engbers.
Gabe attended North Christian Elementary School. He was surrounded by friends there and loved his classmates. Gabe enjoyed fishing, baseball, swimming and playing video games with his brother Ben.
Gabe was diagnosed with Adrenoleukodystrophy in the spring of 1991. He fought a valiant battle for 25 years.
He will be loved and missed by his parents, brother Ben (Laurie) Engbers and sister Kate (Josh) Gant. Grandfather Russell Engbers; nieces and nephew Reagen, Mya, Emma, Reese, Rowen Engbers, Maddy, Keller, Lila, Sierra Gant, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gabe was preceded in death by his grandparents LeRoy and Lillian Michael of Schoolcraft and Janet Engbers of Kalamazoo.
Friends may meet the family Friday, December 16th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street.
Services will be held Saturday, December 17th at 11:00am at The River, 517 Walbridge Street, Kalamazoo, MI. Rev. Paul Fazio officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery, Alamo Township.
Memorials can be made to The Kalamazoo Gospel Mission 'Women's Shelter' or The Myelin Project, in support of improving the lives of those living with ALD.
