Died Sunday morning January 21, 2018. Emma was born January 18, 1927 in Comstock, Michigan a daughter of Frank and Mable (Juhnke) Moler. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed as a Registered Nurse for 33 years before retiring. Emma was also a member of the Galesburg/Comstock United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Comstock Community Center. She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Everett Dowdy Jr. on January 8, 1982; and 3 brothers, Warren, Harold, and Frank. Emma is survived by 5 children, Alan Dowdy, Karen Dowdy, Greg (June) Dowdy, and Mark (Dee) Dowdy all of Kalamazoo, and Curtis Dowdy of Amery, WI; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Friday, April 6th at the Galesburg United Methodist Church, 111 West Battle Creek St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside services will be held 2 o'clock Friday, April 6th in Prairie Home Cemetery, Climax. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Galesburg United Methodist Church or Rose Arbor Hospice. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
