Edmund passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born on June 28, 1922 in Chelsea, WI, the son of the late Michael and Albertina (Krueger) Bahr. Ed proudly served the United States Army during World War II. On June 15, 1942, he was united in marriage to Ada May Bair. In 1986, he retired from Brown Co. (KVP-Sutherland) after 45 years of employment. As an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, he volunteered for the Lutheran Braille Workers and ushered for many years. Eddie enjoyed gardening, deer hunting and fishing and spent the last few years writing his memoirs. Surviving are four children: Violet (Charles) Ballard of Emmaus, PA, Glen (Linda) Bahr of Rome, NY, Ilene (David) Corstange of Portage and June (Mark) Ver Sluis of Plainwell; ten grandchildren: Jennifer, Doug, Ben, Mark, Aaron, Erica, Todd, Lindsay, Jason and Steve; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife of 71 years, Ada and two children, Elaine and Dwayne; and twelve brothers and sisters. Visitation 6-8 PM Friday, May 5, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street and Saturday, May 6, preceding the 11:00 AM celebration service at Zion Lutheran Church, 2122 Bronson Blvd. Rev. Larry Brelje will officiate. Interment will be at 10 AM on Monday, May 8, at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend will meet and proceed from Zion Church at 9:15 AM. Memorial contributions may be directed to The National WWII Museum or Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
