Edith passed away June 6, 2017 in Alpena, MI. She was born June 27, 1927 in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of the late R.D. and Alberta (Mann) Black. She was a resident of the Kalamazoo area most of her life and for several years she was employed at Bronson Hospital. From 2000-2006 she co-operated a foster care home with her stepdaughter May DeForest and she remained with May until the time of Edith's death. She was preceded in death by her daughter Carol Groves; her siblings Elaine Black, Ardith Banks, Duane Black and Ann Hicks. A Graveside Service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, June 28th in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
