Passed away suddenly on Monday, February 20, 2017at the age of 30. David was born in Kalamazoo on December 31, 1986, the son of Thomas and Lori (Seelbinder) Ruth. He graduated High School from Hackett Catholic Central, where he played on the Hockey and Golf teams. David's sense of adventure led him to serve in the US AmeriCorps in Denver, Co for one year before completing his Business Degree in Myrtle Beach, SC from the Golf Academy of America. David will always be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and his love for family and friends. David could light up a room with his grin. He never missed a moment to make someone laugh. He could recite just about any movie line or sing a tune from any given musical. David was always at the center of a good political debate and loved discussing his Catholic religion with those he was close to. If the Red Wings weren't playing, he would be watching Fox News to stay current on his ultra-conservative beliefs. He loved being the goofy uncle and enjoyed his nieces and nephews' soccer games, concerts, holy sacraments, and birthday celebrations. David was a generous soul and made many friends through school, hockey, golf, and his work at Costco. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Lori Ruth; one sister and one brother, Kristen (Steve) White and Bradley (Kari) Ruth; nieces and nephews, Allyson, Nora and Ava White & Alexys, Hunter and Jackson Ruth; his grandparents, Glen and Shirley Seelbinder; and his loving companion, Adele Zavada. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Francis and Lucy Ruth. David's final wishes are honored through cremation. Family and friends are invited to celebrate David's life and share memories of his many laughable adventures from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, February 24th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where a Rosary service will be held at 5 p.m. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25th at St. John Bosco Parish, 23830 Front Ave., Mattawan, MI 49071., with Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Right to Life of Michigan as this was a cause very close to his heart.
