In loving memory and continuous connection to David Anthony Mabin. David, my
beloved only brother, left his earthly body Thursday August 24, 4 days after his 52nd
birthday. David was a warrior of love, loyalty and embodied a bravery I have rarely
seen. He smiled and responded to touch with gentle movements until he released his
last belabored breath.
David was born August 20, 1965 to Linda Hawkins and Edward Mabin. His life was full
of many challenges which illumined his way to peace, marriage, service in the Army ~
Desert Storm ~ with Honorable Discharge. He held a position with Kalamazoo Metro
as a city bus driver. He was a graduate of Portage Central High School.
David was kind, helpful, and protective. He had a natural talent ~ drawing ~ and loved
nature intimately. He loved the peace of fishing and the observation of hunting.
David continues to live all around us as wind, wisdom, changes of season, and in
reflection in his sisters Sokhna Heathyre Mabin and Jillian Mabin, niece Wayana and
nephew Kayenn.
David's Going Home Ceremony is Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 11:30a at Ridge View
Memorial Gardens in Grandville, MI, 49418. All are welcome in loving celebration of
David. We will share stories, poetry, song, and honor the directions and our ancestors ~
David has joined the Wise Ones. This is a gravesite ceremony ~ casket will be closed
and lowered when you arrive.
