Darlene passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born on November 8, 1937 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Davis and Ella (Stenstrom) McIntyre. On January 29, 1955, Darlene was united in marriage to Calvin R. Blair. She was employed by Borgess Medical Center for 39 years until her retirement. Darlene was a longtime member of Texas Corners Bible Church. Surviving are two children: Theresa (Gregory) Jakubik of South Lyon and William Blair of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren: Tiffany Hotchkiss, Kaitlin Jakubik and Andrew Jakubik; great-grandson: Liam Hotchkiss; brothers and sisters-in-law: Fern (Everett) Hall, Melvin (Leda) Blair, Floy (Larry) Lyon, Harley (Veta) Blair, Gary (Loretta) Blair, Pearl (Al) Weaver and Minnie (Gordon) Burkett; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband of 45 years, Calvin Blair; two daughters: Deborah Blair and Tammy Sue Blair and five siblings: Robert, Helen, Janine, Caroline and William. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Monday, July 31, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, where friends and family will begin sharing memories of Darlene at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Texas Corners Bible Church, 7780 S. 8th Street. Pastor David Thompson will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Texas Corners Bible Church.
