Passed away Monday evening, February 26, 2018 at his home. Andy was born January 25, 1954 in Detroit, MI the son of Donald and Catherine (Loper) Maxwell. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church and was employed with Pharmacia for 27 years as an International Packaging Engineer.
Andy was a devoted father, husband and son. He was an avid outdoorsman, and an all-star athlete in high school and college. Spending time with his family, reading his Bible, hunting, playing guitar, cross country racing, swimming, biking, and kayaking are some of the things he enjoyed most. In spite of health challenges for many years, he submitted to God's perfect plan with grace and praise. Blessing many with his kindness, Andy always took the opportunity to shake a hand, give a compliment or share the gospel.
On February 22, 1992 Andy was united in marriage to his loving wife, Ellen (Polderman) who survives. Also surviving are his children, Megan Maxwell (Jordan Baker), Jenna Maxwell, Jacob (Julia) Maxwell, Chloe Maxwell; grand-daughter, Amelia; brother, Don (Lisa) Maxwell; father and mother-in-law, John (Marie) Polderman; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 5-7pm Friday, March 2 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. A service to celebrate Andy's life will be at 11:00am Saturday, March 3 at Calvary Bible Church, 855 S. Drake Rd. Private interment will be in West Cooper Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Bethesda Ranch, Calvary Bible Church, or the American Brain Tumor Association.
